Festivals and Events - Chingay Parade

Base on what I can Remember the history of Chingay parade is dated as early back in the 19th century from a competition held in Penang . And Singapore adopts the ideas to substitute the firecracker event which was ban due to fire hazards.

It is truly awesome and Spectacular. Don't miss out !

Every year during the first week of Chinese New Year, Orchard would be close for this awesome event. I heard that from this year onward the Chingay parade tickets needed to be purchase?

But why? Anyway you still able to stand along the roadside to view the spectacular event. The Parade has growth bigger ever since it started off.... And it got lots of oversea's Floats in the Parade.

This year, I took a train down to orchard road and it was raining very heavy. I stay inside the MRT station for almost 1 hour + and finally the rain and you can see everybody face smile.

Remember to get the best spot to view the parade.

Everybody waited for almost 3 hours + for the rehearsal parade. It was damn tiring and boring....... but the atmosphere is there!

Gosh ....... it is happening......We can hear the music starting to play.

The floats were beautiful decorated with lights and dancers parading along the road with colorful costumes. There are the young and old and the girls and the boys participle in the parade.

The parade ended quite late.

At my wilder dream I actually wanted to be in the parade. Hope next year the Chingay will be ever better...
