NDP @ Marina Bay 2007
This year biggest event would be NDP @ Marina Bay 2007.The theme for this year’s NDP is Celebrate Singapore: City of possibilities. The theme “This theme reflects optimism and pride as Singaporeans from all walks of life come together to celebrate our nation’s independence. Singapore is today a city of possibilities because Singaporeans are hardworking, innovative and enterprising in creating and seizing opportunities.” Never before in the history of NDP, is help at the waterfront. All along, the NDP was help either at the National Stadium or the Padang. I can imagine how it would look during the actual day. It will be fantastic! You will see what the world’s largest floating performance stage is possibly. New features that would be include in this year NDP which make use of the waters in the bay theme. The platform will measure 130 meters by 100 meters, with gangways connecting it to land. And said to be able to hold up to 10,000 people and 200 tonnes of props and 5 30-tonne vehicles at any one time. It is amazing! To complete it, a 30,000 seating gallery will be built on land at Marina Promenade.
It shows time! The key highlights of NDP @ Marina Bay 2007 are: 1. A one-hour pre-parade concert featuring local singers, dancers, musicians and theatre actors to entertain spectators who arrive early. 2. A dynamic defense display at the end of the 50-minute parade and ceremonial segment to showcase Singapore's Total Defense capability. This will be a fitting tribute to all National Servicemen as we also celebrate 40 Years of National Service this year. 3. As night falls, a 50-minute light, sound, water and pyrotechnics show will illuminate the city skyline at Marina Bay. Hope that everyone can be part of our National Day Celebration! Remember to come and join us on 9th August. Don’t be late! If you want to know more about click here http://www.ndp.org.sg/
