Short image description

Simply the best time to be in Singapore is during holiday period.

Singapore Festivals and Holiday is very much related to the Culture and Religious and you can see Culture and religious is very much related to ethical groups. Singapore is a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic populated country.

The major Festivals and holidays in Singapore reflect a lot on the Cultural and the religious diversity of the Country, you can see the Chinese will be celebrating festivals like Chinese Lunar New Year, Vesak Day, Qingming, Hungry Ghost and Mid Autumn and so on ……..

For the Malay it include festival like Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Haji . You will see more festivals like Deepavali, Thaipusam, Navarathiri, Christmas Day And Good Friday celebrate by the Tamils and the Eurasian. And not all these Festivals are given a public holidays. The most important holiday for Singapore is Our National Day on 9 August.

I love the place so much, we not only got chance to celebrate our own Festivals but we also able to enjoy other ethical group special festivals. During the Hari Raya holiday we use to be invited by our Malay’s friend to visit their house.

Below are some of the Public holiday in Singapore :-

  • 1 January - New Year's Day
  • 18 February - 19 February - First and second days of the Chinese New Year
  • 6 April - Good Friday
  • 1 May - Labour Day / May Day
  • 31 May - Vesak Day
  • 9 August - National Day
  • 13 October - Hari Raya Puasa
  • 8 November - Deepavali
  • 20 December - Hari Raya Haji
  • 25 December - Christmas

  • Beside all the public holidays we celebrate, here are some other special events and festivals some of us celebrate too. Too bad we can't have its all to be a public holidays.
