Travel Guide Singapore - Singapore fort canning hill.
Singapore fort canning hill, a cultural and artistic activity hub .....!
Fort canning is a small hill but it history dated long ago. Previously it was call Bukit Larangan which means "Forbidden Hill" in Malay.
History shows that Sir Stamford Raffles built his first residence and the Singapore’s first botanic garden on the hill during 1822.
Nowadays, fort Canning serves as a cultural and artistic activity hub. And it has stage many outdoor events and activities.
The one I like best is the starlight cinemas. I really enjoy it.
The park itself is nice and beautiful place, my wife loves the quietness and the calmness of the park. We spend some time sitting down on the grass and relax. If you pay attention you actually can hear the birds sing. I can see few couples were sitting at the bench. It a lovely scenic.

The fortress is gone the only remind is the concrete structure for the gate and the metal gate. .
There is a spice garden at the lower part of the hill. This garden is a replica of the first experimental Botanic garden in Singapore.
Explains the WW2 history well and is quite an interesting structure.
The battle box was a very interesting tour repeat with photos and recording, The box was sealed since then and only open a year or so ago and much was left completely untouched including
Messages scrolled on the walls by allies and Japanese soldiers upon their respective departure from and assumption of control over the battle box.
I highly recommend the tour. It is relatively short, inexpensive but impact
