1) Chili Crabs

Chili Crabs have been my all time favorite. Everyone love its and it was so call Singapore’s unofficial National dish. The crabs are cooked in thick gravy with chili tomato base Remember to use the nutcracker to crack open the crawl. It is serve best with slices of French bread or some mantou for the delicious sauce.

There are quiet number of good places that serve good chili Crabs. I would recommend you try East Coast Seafood Centre

2) Bak Kuh Teh

There are 2 versions of Bak kuh Teh in Singapore, one with the clear soup broth with Garlic and White pepper and the other with dark soup which broth with Chinese herbs. the Pork Ribs go best with Sliced red chilies in dark soy sauce. Both serve best with white rice. Try ordering some side dish like “yu tiao” or pig’s trotters to go with it. I know that is very fattening but it is very delicious. Must give it a try!

3) Hainanese Chicken Rice

Hainanese Chicken rice is cooked by boiling the meat in water flavoured with garlic and ginger, after the chicken is cook it is remove and dip into ice water. And the remaining chicken broth is use in the preparation of the rice and the soup.

In Singapore Hainanese Chicken Rice is also considered as one the National Dish of Singapore and you ever can find this dish in Singapore Airlines flights.

Here are some of the well-known established franchise outlets include Five Star Hainanese Chicken Rice, LoyKee and Boo Tong Kee

4) Roti Prata

Roti Prata is crispy crusty South Indian pancake, and for instance nowadays prata come with more flavorings like garlic prata, chocolate prata, cheese prata and many more…..!It is served with a bowl of curry gravy or sometime other prefers to go with sugar or condensed milk.

Here are some of the popular prata eating places included the most famous one located at Jalan Kayu and the other Upper Thomson Road and one more near NUS at Clementi Road.

Satay is a form of marinated meat kebabs and normally serves with peanut gravy and cucumber. To complete the meal you can try rice cake to go with it, it is very tasty when dip into the gravy.
