Singapore River Tour on a Bumboat

Did you know....

The Old Parliament House was once known as the Old Court House. It was originally designed as a house for John Argyll Maxwell, a merchant and one of first three magistrates whom Stamford Raffles appointed. It was designed by George Coleman. As soon as it was completed in 1827, it was leased to the government by Maxwell and was then used as a courthouse and for government offices. Parliament meetings were held in the building until the new Parliament House was built nearby. It is now refurbished as The Arts House.
