Basin Entry Requirements for All travellers wish to visit Singapore

Validity
  • A passport with at least 6 months before the expired date.


  • Air tickets
  • Confirmed onward/return tickets (where applicable)


  • Visas
  • A valid visa if applicable


  • The following basic requirements must be achieve before they are allowed to enter Singapore and the Granting of the social visit passed is determined at the point of entry by immigration & Checkpoints Authority officers.

    Important points to take note before leaving the checkpoint Visitors are advised to check for the arrival endorsement and the number of days stay given on their passport. If Extension of stay is needed, you may apply online or at the Visitor Service Centre or at the ICA building. But if you travel by tour you can always approach the guide for assistant.

    Tallest Office Buildings

    The three tallest office buildings in Singapore are the UOB Plaza (66 storeys), OUB Centre (60 storeys) and the Republic Plaza (66 storeys). All three buildings are 280m tall, which is the height limit for the vicinity.

    Essential Informations

    Alcohol and Cigarette

    Singapore drinking age is 18. Person below the age of 18 are not allow to purchase any alcohol from any liquor store. The legal driving limit in Singapore is a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg%.

    As for Smoking, person below 18 are not allow to smoke in public or to buy Cigarette at any convenience store. It is an offence to buy or sell Cigarette to person below 18.

    Last but not least, you are not allowed to smoke at any Air Condition eating places. But smoking is permitted in air-conditioned pubs, discos, karaoke bars and nightspots.

    Singapore Law

    When you are in Singapore, visitors should be aware that Singapore has Strict laws and penalties for Jaywalking, littering and ever spitting.

    if you are caught,for first time offenders fine up to $1,000 and for repeat offenders the fine can go up to $2,000.

    Don't be a Litterbugs .....thinks twice about tossing cigarette butt on the roadside

    So don't jaywalk, don't little and No spitting!

    ATM Machines

    You can find ATM Machines at almost all the shopping malls and nearby interchanges. ATM are very easy to use and you just need to follow the instruction on the screen.

    Money Matters

    Currency

    Currency in Singapore is Singapore Dollars.

    Notes come in denominations of SGD 2, SGD 5, SGD 10, SGD 20, SGD 50, SGD 100, SGD 500, SGD 1,000, and SGD 10,000.

    Money Changer

    You can find Licensed Money Changers at most of the shopping complexes, Check a few places before changing.If you don't mind the minor rate differ you also can change with the hotels or banks.

    Credits Cards

    Credits Cards are widely accepted in Singapore, the most popular are Master and Visa cards. Some of the taxis also accept credits cards payment. Most of department stores accept all range of card but some of the small only accept cash term. Do check with the shop assistance if you in doubt.

    Tipping

    Tipping in Singapore is not a must but it will be appreciated. most of the Restaurant and hotel have include a 10% service charge in the bill.

    Communications

    Making Call from a public phone can either by coin or card-operated. Phone card can purchase from post office and some shops. And Some of the booth provide the use of credit card to make call.

    If you using a handphone when you visit Singapore, you can get local Pre-Paid Card for the use . Please note that Singapore is operate on GSM 900 network.
